K-pop idol V, also known as Kim Taehyung from BTS, officially completed his mandatory military service on June 10, 2025. He was discharged on the same day as fellow BTS member RM. Earlier in 2024, rumours had spread about members of the girl group NewJeans visiting V during his time in the military. However, neither V nor NewJeans confirmed or denied these claims at the time.
NewJeans Member Reportedly Met V During His Service
Now, a new online post has brought those rumours back to life. According to AllKPop, a fan recently uploaded a photo showing Haerin’s autograph and a handwritten note addressed to one of V’s fellow soldiers. This message appears to confirm that NewJeans did indeed visit him.
In the note, Haerin wrote, “Hello, this is NewJeans. Be healthy and happy during your military service, and please take care of our second brother, Taehyung." The person who posted the image said, “I guess NewJeans did go visit V during his military service. A fellow soldier who used to serve with V posted Haerin’s signature, saying ‘Please take care of Taehyung.’”
V Hints at a Surprise for ARMY in August
Since rejoining BTS after his service, V has already excited fans with a live broadcast. During the stream, he teased something special planned for August. He said, “Actually, in August, there will be a little something for ARMYs to see.”
NewJeans May Return to ADOR Under Conditions
Meanwhile, NewJeans made headlines for a possible return to their original agency, ADOR. In a recent court hearing, the group—made up of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—shared their terms for returning.
Their legal team said that the group is open to rejoining ADOR if it is restored to the same condition it was in before April 2024, when trust between the group and the agency began to break down.
As their lawyer explained, “It’s not that the members absolutely refuse to return. If ADOR were restored to the state it was when the members first trusted it, they would return even without being asked.”
A closed-door mediation session regarding the dispute between NewJeans and ADOR is scheduled for August 14, 2025. If the two sides fail to reach a compromise, the court will make a final ruling on October 30, more than a year after the group suddenly cancelled their contract.
