‘India will not tolerate nuclear threats anymore,’ PM Modi Warns Pakistan from Red Fort
During his Independence Day speech, PM Narendra Modi said India will no longer tolerate nuclear threats or unfair water agreements, warning Pakistan against future provocations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the nation from the Red Fort, made it clear that India will no longer give in to nuclear blackmail. “India has decided that it will not tolerate nuclear threats anymore, we won't fall for any blackmail,” he said.

Modi described this stance as part of a “new India” that does not compromise on its security or dignity.

Criticism of Indus Waters Treaty

PM Modi also criticized the Indus Waters Treaty, saying India’s resources have long been exploited to benefit Pakistan while Indian farmers suffered.

“India has now decided, blood and water will not flow together. The people have come to realize that the Indus Waters Treaty is unjust. Water from the Indus River system has been irrigating the lands of the enemy, while our own farmers have suffered. What kind of agreement is this that has caused such immense loss to our farmers for the past seven decades?” he said.

His remarks followed Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s threat earlier this week that India would not be allowed to take “even one drop” of Pakistan’s water. This came amid tensions after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, when India suspended key elements of the 1960 treaty.

Strong Warning on Terrorism

PM Modi further warned that India will make no distinction between terrorists and those supporting them. He said the Indian armed forces will decide the punishment in case of any future misadventure from Pakistan.

Praising Armed Forces and Operation Sindoor

Hailing the armed forces’ response in Operation Sindoor, Modi said the operation dealt a severe blow to Pakistan. He noted that new details of the damages inflicted on Pakistan continue to emerge.

“What the Indian armed forces have done during Operation Sindoor was not seen in many, many years. We have set a new normal in dealing with cross-border terrorism,” he said.

He praised the soldiers for their bravery, saying, “I salute our brave soldiers who punished those behind the Pahalgam attack beyond their imagination.”
