A powerful explosion shook Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, on Tuesday. At least eight people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, lost their lives, while several others suffered injuries. The blast struck near Zarghoon Road, a high-security area in the city.

Attack on Frontier Corps Foiled

Sources revealed that militants attempted to storm the Frontier Corps headquarters in Quetta. However, security forces responded quickly and foiled the attack. In the encounter, four militants were killed. Officials confirmed that a suicide bomber detonated himself during the assault.

Emergency Declared in Hospitals

Following the blast, the Balochistan Health Department imposed an emergency across hospitals in Quetta. Doctors and staff rushed to handle the sudden influx of casualties. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department and the Trauma Centre for urgent treatment.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have begun a detailed investigation into the incident. Security agencies are trying to trace the network behind the attack and assess the militants’ plan.
