Influencer Sakshi Shivdasani recently shared screenshots of abusive messages she received. This came after she criticized a police case filed against Ranveer Allahbadia. The Mumbai-based influencer was targeted by an Instagram user. This user was enraged after she voiced her opinion on the matter.
The Incident
Yesterday, Sakshi shared her thoughts on the controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on India’s Got Latent. While she didn't address the joke that caused the outrage, she criticized the police case against content creators.
She posted on Instagram, saying, "Thank God our country’s resources are being used to file FIRs against content creators so actual criminals can walk free." This followed a police complaint filed in Mumbai against Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and comedian Samay Raina for allegedly using abusive language during the show.
Abusive Messages Follow
As a result, Sakshi was bombarded with offensive messages from an Instagram user named Mayur Jain. The screenshots she shared showed that Jain insulted her, repeatedly calling her a "r****," clearly enraged by her Instagram Story.
However, Sakshi did not let the abuse slide. She tracked down Jain’s address and business details, threatening to file a police complaint against him. Shortly after, Jain's Instagram account was deactivated. It is unclear, though, whether Sakshi followed through with her threat to report him to the authorities.
Ranveer Allahbadia Issues Apology
Amid the controversy, Ranveer Allahbadia publicly apologized for his comments. He admitted that his remark was "not just inappropriate, it was not even funny." Allahbadia acknowledged that comedy was not his strength and expressed regret, saying, "I am just here to say sorry. It was not cool on my part." He ended his apology by saying, "I personally had a lapse in judgment."
