Technical Glitch in Air Traffic Control Disrupts Over 100 Flights at IGI Airport in Delhi
A glitch in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system disrupted flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday, causing long delays and passenger frustration.

Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport(IGI) were hit on Friday due to a technical glitch in the Air Traffic Control system. More than 100 flights were delayed, according to PTI reports.

Airport officials said the ATC team was working with airlines and other stakeholders to fix the issue quickly. “Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates,” the Delhi Airport said in a statement.

Airlines confirm flight delays

Major airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet, confirmed delays at the Delhi airport. They asked passengers to check their flight status before traveling.

Air India said the glitch caused longer wait times for several flights. “We regret the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption, which is beyond our control, and appreciate your patience. Our cabin crew and on-ground staff at the airport are extending immediate assistance to reduce passenger inconvenience,” the airline said.

SpiceJet warned passengers to expect delays in both arrivals and departures. It advised them to track their flight status on spicejet.com/#status.

IndiGo also issued a similar notice. It urged passengers to check flight updates on its website. “We understand that extended wait times, both on the ground and onboard, may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience,” the airline said.

Passengers told to contact airlines

The airport advised travelers to contact their airlines directly for real-time updates. Officials said teams were working to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
