Indian Army Kills Two Terrorists in Kupwara Encounter Near LoC
The Indian Army killed two terrorists in an encounter near the Line of Control in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, after intercepting an infiltration attempt based on intelligence inputs.

The Indian Army eliminated two terrorists in the Keran sector of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, during an encounter that started on Friday. The gunfight began after security agencies shared specific intelligence about militants trying to infiltrate across the Line of Control.

The Chinar Corps shared details of the incident on X, saying, “On 07 Nov 2025, based on specific intelligence input from agencies regarding an infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched in Keran sector of Kupwara. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Contact established and terrorists trapped.”

It further added, “Two terrorists have been neutralised by the security forces in the ongoing operation. Search of the area in progress.”

Security Forces Continue Search

Army officials confirmed that the search operation in the region is still continuing. They said troops are combing the dense forest areas near the Line of Control to ensure no other infiltrators are hiding. The area remains under tight surveillance as security personnel work to secure the region completely.

Series of Encounters in Jammu and Kashmir

This latest encounter follows a pattern of frequent clashes between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. On November 5, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police jointly carried out an operation in Kishtwar’s Chatroo area, where they confronted armed militants after receiving intelligence inputs.

A few weeks earlier, on October 13, soldiers killed two terrorists in the Kumbakdi forest of Kupwara district, close to the Line of Control. The militants had attempted to sneak into Indian territory from across the border.

Increased Vigilance Along Line of Control

Kupwara, situated close to the Line of Control, has become a hotspot for infiltration attempts in recent months. Officials said the Army has stepped up surveillance and patrols to prevent militants from crossing over before heavy snowfall shuts down the mountain routes.

Security forces remain on high alert to counter any infiltration bids and maintain peace along the border.
