Rekha Gupta Sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister: A New Era for BJP
Rekha Gupta was sworn in as Delhi's Chief Minister, marking the BJP's return to power after 27 years, with promises of support for women and development.

Rekha Gupta, a first-time BJP MLA from Shalimar Bagh, was sworn in as Delhi’s fourth female Chief Minister on Thursday. The grand ceremony took place at Ramlila Ground. With 48 out of 70 seats, the BJP has returned to power in Delhi after a 27-year gap.

BJP Leaders Sworn in as Ministers

Alongside Rekha Gupta, several other BJP leaders also took the oath as ministers. These included Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Raviraj Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh.

Support for Women in Delhi

In her first major announcement, Rekha Gupta revealed that women would soon start receiving ₹2,500 monthly under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. Furthermore, she confirmed that the first payment will be credited to their bank accounts by March 8.

BJP MLAs Choose Rekha Gupta

The suspense surrounding the appointment of Delhi's next CM finally ended on Wednesday. At a key meeting, BJP MLAs elected Rekha Gupta, 50, as their leader, ultimately making her the Chief Minister.

PM Modi and Other Leaders Congratulate Gupta

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to congratulate Rekha Gupta. He praised her grassroots journey and expressed confidence in her leadership.

Likewise, former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik extended his best wishes, hoping her leadership would bring further development to Delhi.
