Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu Thanks PM Modi for Support Amid Iran Conflict
Netanyahu thanked PM Modi for supporting Israel and discussed the escalating Iran conflict, while India called for civilian safety and an early end to hostilities.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Monday that he held detailed talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the escalating crisis in West Asia.

He spoke to the media from a site in Israel that an Iranian missile had hit. He said he discussed the situation with Modi at “great length.”

Netanyahu Thanks PM Modi for Supporting Israel Against Iran

Netanyahu publicly thanked Modi for backing Israel during its conflict with Iran. “I spoke to our great friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I spoke to him at great length yesterday. I thank him for standing with Israel, standing with the Jews and for the enormous friendship of the people of India. They are much admired and love. I won’t get into the details of the conversations but I have spoken to him (Modi), and I have spoken to many other leaders in the region and beyond," Netanyahu said.

He did not share specific details of the discussion. However, he confirmed that he also spoke with other global leaders.

PM Modi Raises Concerns Over Civilian Safety

Earlier, Modi shared details of the phone call on X. He said he discussed the regional tensions and expressed India’s concerns over the recent developments.

“Had a telephone call with PM Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the current regional situation. Conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and emphasised the safety of civilians as a priority. India reiterates the need for an early cessation of hostilities," Modi wrote.

Modi clearly stressed the need to protect civilians. He also called for an early end to hostilities.

Call Follows US-Israel Strikes on Iran

The leaders spoke after joint US and Israeli strikes targeted Iran. Reports said the attacks killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran responded with force. It launched drones and missiles at Israeli and US military bases in the Gulf region. It also targeted major business and aviation hubs such as Dubai and Doha.

The conflict continues to escalate. Regional tensions remain high as both sides exchange attacks.
