Trump Accuses Iran of Repeated Ceasefire Violations Ahead of Deadline
Trump accuses Iran of repeated ceasefire violations as uncertainty grows over peace talks and rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday alleged that Iran has violated the ceasefire many times. He made this claim just before the truce agreement is set to end. His statement came even as a US team was on its way to Islamabad for another round of peace talks with Iran.

Trump posted on Truth Social, "Iran has Violated the Cease Fire numerous times!"

Peace Talks Expected in Islamabad

According to an Associated Press report, Pakistan is acting as a mediator in the conflict. Two regional officials confirmed that senior representatives from both countries will soon arrive in Islamabad.

US Vice President JD Vance and Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf are expected to lead their respective teams. They are likely to reach the Pakistani capital early Wednesday for negotiations.

However, there is still some confusion. Iranian state television stated that no Iranian delegation had arrived in Islamabad so far.

Mixed Signals from Trump

Trump has sent unclear messages about the future of the conflict. On one hand, he said he is not in a hurry to end the war. On the other hand, he expressed hope that talks will move forward.

This contradiction has created uncertainty around whether the second round of talks will actually take place. Meanwhile, the current ceasefire is scheduled to expire on Wednesday.

Stalemate Continues with Strong Warnings

Both sides remain firm in their positions. Trump warned that if no agreement is reached, serious military action could follow. He said “lots of bombs” could “start going off” if talks fail before the deadline.

In response, Iran also took a tough stance. Its chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said the country is prepared for further escalation. He wrote on X, “We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats,” and added that Iran is ready “to reveal new cards on the battlefield.”

Possible Extension of Ceasefire

Despite rising tensions, there is still hope for diplomacy. If both sides agree to continue discussions, the ceasefire may be extended. US officials confirmed that JD Vance will lead the American delegation. However, Iran has not officially confirmed its negotiating team yet.

Strait of Hormuz Remains a Major Issue

One of the biggest points of conflict is the Strait of Hormuz. The US has imposed a blockade on Iranian ports to pressure Tehran. Washington wants Iran to loosen its control over this vital waterway.

The strait is extremely important for global energy supply. Around 20% of the world’s oil and natural gas passes through it during normal times.

Before the conflict began, the route was open for all international shipping. Trump has demanded that ships should again move freely through the passage.

Oil Prices Surge Amid Crisis

Iran’s tight control over the strait has affected global oil markets. Prices have increased sharply due to supply concerns.

Brent crude oil, the global benchmark, rose to nearly $95 per barrel on Tuesday. This marks an increase of more than 30% since February 28, when the war started after joint attacks by the US and Israel on Iran.
