India strongly rejected Pakistan’s human rights allegations in Jammu and Kashmir during a UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting in Geneva on Wednesday. The Indian representative called these claims “baseless and malicious.” He also stated that Pakistan had no right to lecture others.
India Calls Out Pakistan’s Hypocrisy
Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi condemned Pakistan’s accusations. He said Pakistan’s leaders follow a script written by its “military-terrorist complex.”
“India is exercising its right of reply in response to the baseless and malicious references made by Pakistan. It is regrettable to see Pakistan’s so-called leaders and delegates continuing to dutifully spread falsehoods handed down by its military-terrorist complex,” Tyagi said.
He further added, “Its rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions of inhumanity, and its governance of incompetence. India remains focused on democracy, progress, and ensuring dignity for its people—values that Pakistan would do well to learn from.”
Jammu & Kashmir Is an Integral Part of India
Tyagi reaffirmed that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh belong to India. He dismissed Pakistan’s claims of unrest and highlighted recent progress in these regions.
Moreover, he criticized Pakistan’s internal issues. He accused Pakistan of widespread human rights violations, persecution of minorities, and weakening democracy. He also pointed out that Pakistan shelters UN-sanctioned terrorists.
Pakistan Raises Kashmir Issue Again
Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, repeated allegations against India. He claimed India was violating human rights in Kashmir. He also said, “continued denial of the right to self-determination” violated “UN charters, resolutions, and international law.”
However, India firmly denied these accusations. It maintained that Pakistan’s statements lacked credibility and truth.
