UAE Women crushed Indonesia Women by six wickets in the eighth match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 in Dubai. After being invited to bat first, Indonesia Women managed to score 73 runs before being bowled out with one ball to spare. Ni Nanda Sakarini remained the top scorer for Indonesia Women.

Suraksha Kotte (3/16 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler for UAE Women, while Esha Oza, Heena Hotchandani and Vaishnave Mahesh took two wickets each.

While chasing the target, UAE Women completed the chase comfortably despite losing an early wicket. Esha Oza and Rinitha Rajith added 45 runs for the second wicket. UAE Women lost a few more wickets towards the end, but Samaira Dhamidharka finished things off with a boundary on the first ball of the 14th over. With this win, UAE Women kept their chances of reaching the next round alive.

UAE Bowlers Put Indonesia Under Pressure

UAE made an immediate impact with the ball through offspinner Suraksha Kotte. She produced a superb spell of 3 for 16 and struck with the first two deliveries of the Indonesian innings.

Kotte removed opener Maria Corazon and No. 3 Ni Luh Dewi off consecutive balls. Both batters were dismissed without scoring. UAE captain Esha Oza then added to Indonesia’s problems by removing the other opener, Rahmawati Pangestuti, in the fourth over.

Indonesia Struggle for Runs

Indonesia found it extremely difficult to recover after their early collapse. Captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini fought hard and produced the team’s only major contribution. Sakarini scored 39 from 52 deliveries. Her innings included four fours and one six. She made more than half of Indonesia’s total, contributing 53.4% of their runs.

However, she received very little support from the other batters. Indonesia kept losing wickets and eventually folded for 73. Esha Oza finished with 2 for 11, while slow left-arm spinner Heena Hotchandani impressed with 2 for 6. Seamer Samaira Dharnidharka also took one wicket for 12 runs. Legspinner Vaishnave Mahesh completed the innings by taking two wickets in the final over and cleaning up the Indonesian tail.

UAE Complete Comfortable Chase

UAE began their chase steadily, with openers Theertha Satish and Esha Oza adding 17 runs for the first wicket. Theertha was dismissed in the fifth over, but Oza continued to attack. She struck two boundaries in both the sixth and eighth overs to put UAE in control. Rinitha Rajith then joined the attack at No. 3. She smashed three fours in the ninth over against Sofia Velic, further reducing the target.

However, UAE experienced a brief setback after reaching 62 for 1. They slipped to 68 for 4 as Indonesia picked up three quick wickets. Oza was dismissed at the start of the 11th over after scoring a valuable 30 from 29 balls. Ni Ariani took her wicket. Velic then struck twice in the 12th over, giving Indonesia a brief opportunity to fight back. But the target was too small to defend.

UAE needed only six more runs when they entered the 14th over. They completed the chase at the start of the over, winning by six wickets with 41 balls still remaining.

The victory kept UAE's semi-final hopes alive. They now face Bangladesh on September 8 in a must-win match and will also need favourable results elsewhere to progress. For Indonesia, the tournament ended with another defeat. They lost all three of their matches in the competition and finished their campaign without a victory.
