India won another shooting medal at the Asian Games after securing silver in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event. The Indian team featured Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa K. Vinod and Ashi Chouksey. The trio combined for 1,763 points to finish second. China won the gold medal with 1,773 points. The Chinese team also matched its own Games Record set at Hangzhou 2023.

Tilottama and Vidarsa reach individual final

Tilottama Sen and Vidarsa K. Vinod also secured places in the individual final. Tilottama finished third in the qualification standings with 590 points. She produced standing series of 97 and 98.

Vidarsa finished sixth with 588 points. She recovered well after scoring 193 in the kneeling position. She then produced 98 and 98 in her two standing series. Both Indian shooters will now compete for an individual medal.

Ashi misses individual final

Ashi Chouksey finished 15th with 585 points and missed out on the individual final. She scored 93 in her opening standing series. That result left her with too much ground to recover in the qualification standings.

Ashi finished strongly with a 97 in her final standing series but could not break into the top six.

Individual final set for 9:30 am IST

The women’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual final will begin at 9:30 am IST. India will have two shooters in the final, with Tilottama Sen and Vidarsa K. Vinod competing for the individual medal.
