Man Pulled Gun Near White House, Shot by Secret Service
Secret Service agents shot a reportedly suicidal man near the White House after he pulled out a gun; his condition remains unknown.

US Secret Service agents shot a man near the White House early Sunday. According to a spokesperson, paramedics took him to the hospital, but his condition is “unknown.”

Police Warned Secret Service About Suicidal Man

Earlier, local police had alerted the Secret Service about a “suicidal” man traveling from Indiana to Washington, D.C. As a result, agents started searching for him. Soon, they found him near the White House. “An armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel,” spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said on X.

Man Pulled Out a Gun, Agents Opened Fire

Next, agents located the man’s car and saw him nearby. When they approached, he suddenly pulled out a gun. Consequently, the agents fired their weapons.

Investigation Underway

Afterward, paramedics rushed him to the hospital. However, officials have not updated his condition. Since the shooting involved law enforcement, the Metropolitan Police Department will investigate. So far, the department has not responded to requests for more information.
