FC Goa secured their first win of the MG ISL 2026-27 season with a 2-1 victory over Inter Kashi FC, thanks to goals from Francisco Feuillassier and Christian Borrego.
FC Goa finally opened their winning account in the MG Indian Super League 2026-27 with a 2-1 victory over Inter Kashi FC at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune on Sunday. The Gaurs produced an impressive second-half display to claim all three points after a competitive encounter. Francisco Feuillassier (35') and Christian Borrego (66') scored for FC Goa, while Sumeet Passi (51') found the net for Inter Kashi. The victory gave FC Goa their first win of the campaign and handed Inter Kashi their third defeat of the season.

Inter Kashi Create Early Opportunities

Inter Kashi started the match with attacking intent and looked to put pressure on the FC Goa defence. Jeetu attempted to connect with an early delivery into the penalty area, but his header missed the target. Ayush Chikkara also tried to open the scoring with a long-range effort. He took a shot from approximately 25 yards, but failed to make proper contact with the ball, which sailed over the crossbar. FC Goa gradually settled into the contest and began creating opportunities of their own. Their attacking efforts eventually produced the opening goal in the 35th minute.

Franchu Gives FC Goa the Lead

Isak Ralte played an important role in FC Goa's breakthrough. The winger moved forward with the ball, got past his marker and created an opportunity for Francisco Feuillassier, popularly known as Franchu. The Spaniard showed composure inside the penalty area and guided a side-footed finish into the bottom corner to give FC Goa a 1-0 advantage. Isak almost extended the lead just five minutes later. He attempted a floated effort towards the far corner, but the ball narrowly missed the target. FC Goa maintained their one-goal advantage as the first half came to an end.

Sumeet Passi Brings Inter Kashi Back Into the Match

Inter Kashi returned for the second half with greater attacking purpose and found an equaliser just five minutes after the restart. Rosenberg Gabriel delivered an excellent cross from the right flank, picking out Sumeet Passi inside the penalty area. Passi made the most of the opportunity and calmly placed the ball past FC Goa goalkeeper Bob Jackson, who remained rooted to his position. The goal brought Inter Kashi level at 1-1 and gave them renewed confidence. The visitors looked to build on their equaliser and threatened again through a set-piece opportunity. Sandesh Jhingan got on the end of the delivery and attempted a header, but his effort went wide.

Christian Borrego Restores FC Goa's Lead

FC Goa responded quickly and regained the advantage through Christian Borrego in the 66th minute. Francisco Feuillassier broke through the Inter Kashi defensive line before playing a precise pass towards substitute Muhammed Nemil. Nemil moved the ball away from the advancing Albino Gomes and squared it towards Chiki. Borrego finished the move successfully, beating Pratik Chaudhary's attempted block to put FC Goa ahead 2-1. The goal was his second of the season and proved crucial in deciding the match.

FC Goa Hold On to Secure First Season Victory

Inter Kashi tried to find another equaliser as the match entered its closing stages. However, FC Goa remained organised defensively and prevented their opponents from creating a clear opportunity to get back into the contest. FC Goa head coach Gouramangi Singh was sent off late in the match after kicking the ball away in an attempt to delay the restart. Despite the late incident, the Gaurs maintained their composure and protected their narrow advantage until the final whistle. The 2-1 victory marked FC Goa's first win of the MG ISL 2026-27 season. Meanwhile, Inter Kashi suffered their third defeat of the campaign after failing to recover from Borrego's second-half winner.
