Explosive Start by KKR
Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine opened the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. Mitchell Starc bowled the first over. Gurbaz got off the mark with a four and ended the over with another boundary. Dushmantha Chameera bowled the second over. Narine attacked him with a six, a four, and another six. Gurbaz joined the action by hitting a boundary off the last ball. After two overs, KKR reached 33/0.
Gurbaz then took on Starc in the third over. He smashed two fours and a six before Starc dismissed him on the last delivery. Gurbaz scored 26 off 12 balls. KKR moved to 48/1 after three overs.
Narine hit a boundary in the fourth over, taking KKR past 50. Only six runs came from that over. In the fifth over, Rahane attacked Starc with a six and a four. DC Strike Back
Vipraj Nigam dismissed Narine in the seventh over. He scored 27 off 16. Angkrish Raghuvanshi came in at No. 4 and got going with a couple and a boundary. KKR reached 91/2.
Axar Patel struck in the eighth over, removing Rahane for 25. Venkatesh Iyer came to bat and scored a single and a boundary. KKR stood at 97/3 after eight overs.
Angkrish and Rinku Steady the Ship
Nigam continued in the ninth over. Angkrish smashed back-to-back sixes, taking KKR past 100. Fourteen runs came from that over. Axar struck again in the tenth, dismissing Iyer for 7. Rinku Singh walked in next. Only six runs came from the over. At the halfway mark, KKR were 117/4. Angkrish had 23 off 11, and Rinku was on 2 off 2.
Middle Overs Controlled by Spinners
Kuldeep Yadav bowled the 11th over, and Rinku hit a boundary. Nine runs came from it. Axar bowled the 12th and gave away 10 runs, including a boundary by Angkrish. Both bowlers kept things tight. After 14 overs, KKR stood at 142/4.

In the 16th over as Angkrish and Rinku completed a 50-run partnership. Chameera broke the stand in the 17th over, dismissing Angkrish for 44. Andre Russell came in next. KKR were 175/5. Nigam removed Rinku Singh in the 18th over for 36. Rovman Powell came in and hit a boundary on the last ball. KKR reached 181/6.
Chameera returned in the 19th. Russell smashed two fours, adding 14 runs. In the final over, Starc dismissed Powell and Anukul Roy in consecutive balls. Russell got run out after scoring 17 off 9. Varun Chakaravarthy took a single on the last delivery. KKR posted 204/9 in 20 overs.
DC Start Chase with Early Wicket
Chasing 205, Abhishek Porel and Faf du Plessis opened for Delhi Capitals. Anukul Roy bowled the first over. Porel started with a four but got out on the next ball. Karun Nair came at No. 3 and opened his account with a single. Only seven runs and a wicket came from the first over. Vaibhav Arora bowled the second over. Faf hit a six as 10 runs came from it. Anukul bowled the third. Karun hit a four, and DC moved to 25/1.
Harshit Rana bowled the fourth. Faf attacked him with three boundaries. Arora returned for the fifth and got Karun out for 15. KL Rahul joined Faf. Faf hit another four as DC moved to 48/2. Varun Chakaravarthy bowled the sixth. Rahul ended the over with a boundary. After six overs, DC were 58/2. Faf had 28 off 17, and Rahul was on 6 off 4.
Narine, Anukul Turn the Tide
Anukul bowled the seventh and removed Rahul for 7. Axar Patel came in next. Only four runs came from the over. Narine bowled the eighth. Axar hit a six. After eight overs, DC reached 71/3. Faf exploded in the ninth over bowled by Varun. He hit two fours and a six. Sixteen runs came from the over.
At the halfway mark, DC were 97/3. Faf reached his fifty in the 11th over with a single. Axar hit a four next, taking DC to 100. Faf added another boundary as 11 runs came from the over.
In the 12th over, Russell bowled and the 50-run stand between Faf and Axar was completed. DC added 13 more runs. After 13 overs, DC were 130/3.
Double Blow from Narine and Varun
Narine returned in the 14th. Axar hit a six but fell on the next ball for 43. Stubbs came in and got bowled on the last ball. DC were 138/5. Vipraj Nigam came in next. Anukul bowled the 15th and gave away nine runs. DC reached 146/5. Narine delivered again in the 16th, dismissing Faf for 62. Ashutosh Sharma joined Nigam. Only two runs came from the over.
Nigam hit a four and Ashutosh followed with a six in the 17th over. DC reached 159/6. Varun bowled the 18th. He removed Ashutosh and Starc on consecutive balls. Chameera faced the hat-trick ball and survived with a single. Nigam ended the over with a six. DC added only eight runs but lost two key wickets.
KKR Seal the Win
Rana bowled the 19th. Nigam hit a four and a six, bringing 13 runs. DC were at 180/8. Russell bowled the final over. With 25 needed, Nigam hit two boundaries but fell on the fifth ball. He scored 38 off 19. Kuldeep took a single on the last delivery. KKR won the match by 14 runs.
