Mahua Moitra Demands Refund from Swiggy for Spoilt Ice Cream
Mahua Moitra criticized Swiggy for delivering spoilt ice cream and demanded a refund or replacement, sparking a lively social media discussion.
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra raised a complaint about receiving spoilt ice cream from Swiggy. She ordered the expensive Minus Thirty mini sticks but, unfortunately, found them inedible. Consequently, Moitra demanded a refund or replacement from the food delivery service.

Moitra's Tweet Calls for Action

Moitra tweeted, “Sorry Swiggy - you’ve got to up your game. Unacceptable that I ordered expensive Minus Thirty mini sticks ice cream & it arrives spoilt and inedible. Expecting a refund or replacement asap.” She posted the complaint around 10:15 pm on January 16.

Swiggy Responds Quickly

Fortunately, Swiggy's customer service team responded within minutes. They asked for Moitra's order details. Subsequently, she provided the information, revealing she had spent ₹1,220 on ten ice creams.

Social Media Reacts with Amusement

As a result, Moitra’s complaint amused many social media users. They joked about her previous controversies, including her expensive handbag incident in 2023. Moitra, in turn, joined the banter, calling her ice cream “Hermes flavour with Bobbi Brown topping.”

Moitra Addresses Trolls

In response to the trolling, Moitra stated, “Just because I am an MP doesn’t mean I am not a normal person who orders food online. Please get over this mindset that public reps are not normal beings.”

Users Share Their Experiences

Meanwhile, the complaint sparked a broader discussion about customer experiences with delivery services. Many shared similar stories of issues with frozen deliveries. For example, one user said, “Happened to me twice with Minus Thirty orders. It’s frustrating.” Another advised, “Never order something that melts quickly unless the store is nearby and there’s no traffic.”
