Recently, rumours began circulating online claiming that actress Deepika Padukone was dropped from Kalki 2 following a supposed fallout with the film’s team and co-star Prabhas. However, sources close to the production have completely denied these claims, calling them “completely baseless.”

The Facts: Kalki 2 Hasn’t Started Shooting

According to insiders, the second part of Kalki 2898 AD has not even entered its filming stage yet. The movie is still going through pre-production. That means discussions about casting are ongoing and no actor, including Deepika, has officially been signed.

A source told NDTV, “They haven’t even approached actors because it’s still in development.” Another insider explained, “There’s been no shoot, no interaction, and therefore, no fallout.” These statements clearly deny that Deepika has had any conflict with the team.

What Sparked the Confusion?

The rumour likely stemmed from earlier reports involving Deepika Padukone’s alleged exit from Spirit, an upcoming film by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. These reports claimed that Deepika made several demands, including an 8-hour workday, a higher paycheck, and a share in profits. Supposedly, these conditions didn’t sit well with the filmmaker.

Cryptic Posts from Vanga Added Fuel

After the news of Deepika's exit from Spirit, Vanga posted cryptic messages on X (formerly Twitter). He appeared to criticise actors who wanted “luxury,” and many readers assumed the posts referred to Deepika. Although he didn’t name anyone, the timing led people to draw their own conclusions.

Triptii Dimri’s Casting Intensified Speculation

Soon after this, actress Triptii Dimri, who received praise for her role in Animal, was announced as the female lead in Spirit. Triptii confirmed the news on Instagram and thanked the team. But since her announcement came soon after the controversy, many believed she replaced Deepika.

Deepika’s Role in Kalki 2 Still Intact

Despite the chatter online, there has been no official word from the makers of Kalki 2 about removing Deepika. In fact, sources say the film hasn’t even started casting, let alone removed anyone.
