The men’s doubles final at the Australian Open 2025 is now set. On Thursday, third seeds Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, along with sixth seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, secured their spots in the final after winning their semifinal matches.

Bolelli and Vavassori’s Strong Victory

Firstly, Bolelli and Vavassori triumphed with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Andre Goransson and Sem Verbeek. Vavassori remarked, “We raised our level, we raised our energy, and I think the key of the match was the attitude. We keep fighting, we keep digging.”

Aiming for Their First Grand Slam Together

Looking ahead, Bolelli and Vavassori are eager to capture their first Grand Slam title as a team. Bolelli, 39, has previously won the AO 2015 doubles title with Fabio Fognini. He confidently stated, “We want to win... We are going to do really our best on Saturday to bring home the trophy.”

Heliovaara and Patten’s Path to the Final

Meanwhile, Heliovaara and Patten emerged victorious with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 [10-7] win over Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz. After the match, Heliovaara expressed, “One more! We showed our best and can be really proud.”

Additionally, Heliovaara shared his journey from corporate life to tennis. He recalled, “If you asked me five, six years ago if this was possible when I was making PowerPoints and Excel sheets in the office, I would have laughed. I haven’t regretted a single day.” He also expressed his excitement about playing on Rod Laver Arena for the first time.

Looking ahead to the final, Heliovaara and Patten are focused on their strategy. Heliovaara emphasized, “We’ve got to be disciplined with our tactical game... but also be performers when it matters, on those big moments, that’s when we need to step up.”

Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles Finals Ahead

Finally, Friday will feature the women’s doubles semifinals. Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend will face Diana Shnaider and Mirra Andreeva, while Su-Wei Hsieh and Jelena Ostapenko will play Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe. In the mixed doubles final, two all-Australian teams, Kimberly Birrell and John-Patrick Smith, and Olivia Gadecki and John Peers, will compete for the title.
