Pat Cummins Takes Dig at India-England Pitch Conditions
Pat Cummins called Edgbaston “one of the flattest wickets” after Australia’s 2-0 series win over West Indies.

Australia captain Pat Cummins had a cheeky take on the Edgbaston pitch after leading his team to a 133-run win over West Indies in Grenada. He compared the match conditions in the Caribbean to the flat pitch used in the India vs England Test.

Cummins Says Edgbaston Was "One of the Flattest"

Cummins admitted he didn’t follow the India-England game much, saying, “I wasn’t watching, probably Marnus was. We’ll keep an eye on it.” He then joked, “Who’d want to be a bowler over there?”

Cummins called the Edgbaston pitch “one of the flattest wickets in English history.” He added that watching both Tests felt like “two different sports.” Cummins also said the India-England series “looks like it will be a good one, now that it’s 1-1.”

India and England Scored Big at Edgbaston

The Edgbaston pitch allowed big scores. India made over 1,000 runs, with Shubman Gill scoring 269 and 161 in both innings. England added around 700 runs of their own. But India still won by 336 runs.

Akash Deep starred with 10 wickets, including 6 for 99 in the second innings. Mohammed Siraj picked up 7 wickets. Gill’s total of 430 runs helped India level the five-match series.

Australia Seal Clean Sweep in Grenada

Australia dominated West Indies in Grenada. They bowled them out for 143 on Day 4 and won the Test by 133 runs. Alex Carey won the Player of the Match for scoring important runs in both innings.

Cummins praised the team’s efforts. He said, “An away series win is not easy, so I’m really pumped with how we bounced back after Lord’s.” He added, “It’s a dream start. Two from two gets us into the WTC cycle, and we’ve played some really good cricket.”
