PM Modi Lauds ISRO’s Historic Success in Space Docking
Prime Minister Modi congratulated ISRO for successfully docking two satellites in space, marking a major milestone for India's ambitious space missions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ISRO for its successful docking of two satellites in space on January 16, 2025. He praised the achievement, saying, "Congratulations to our scientists at @isro and the entire space fraternity for the successful demonstration of space docking of satellites. It is a significant stepping stone for India's ambitious space missions in the years to come."

Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) Achieved

This successful docking was part of ISRO's Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX), a critical milestone in India’s space exploration journey. As a result, this event paves the way for future missions, including the establishment of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station.

Successful Docking of SDX01 and SDX02

The two satellites involved, SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target), were launched on December 30, 2024, by the PSLV C60 rocket. Subsequently, the docking process took place under the supervision of ISRO’s Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISTRAC.

Importance of the SpaDeX Mission

Importantly, the SpaDeX mission serves as a cost-effective demonstration of in-space docking technology. This is crucial for future missions, especially those involving multiple rocket launches to achieve common objectives.
