Australian Open 2025: Sriram Balaji and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela Secures Easy Win to Move Forward

N Sriram Balaji and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela successfully reached the second round of the Australian Open 2025. They won their men’s doubles match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, against Robin Haase and Aleksandr Nedovyesov. The match lasted just over an hour.

Strong Performance

Balaji and Reyes-Varela were dominant throughout the match, hitting 23 winners, while their opponents managed only 16. This clear difference in performance demonstrated their consistency and powerful shots.

Breaks and Wins

In the first set, Balaji and Reyes-Varela broke in the sixth game. However, they were immediately broken back. Despite this, they regained control and sealed the set with a decisive backhand winner in the 10th game.

Second Set Victory

Moving into the second set, Haase and Nedovyesov made a costly unforced error, which gave Balaji and Reyes-Varela a crucial break in the eighth game. They capitalized on this advantage and comfortably won the set, securing the match.

Bollipalli and Seggerman Exit

On the other hand, Rithvik Bollipalli and Ryan Seggerman were eliminated in the first round. They lost 6-7, 1-6 to the sixth-seeded pair, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten. Consequently, Bollipalli became the third Indian to exit the men’s doubles event.
