DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old cancer survivor, received a special honor from US President Donald Trump. During his March 4 address to Congress, Trump highlighted DJ’s deep admiration for law enforcement.
Overcoming the Odds
In 2018, doctors diagnosed DJ with brain cancer. At that time, they gave him only five months to live. However, more than six years later, he continues to defy expectations. Since then, he and his father have worked tirelessly to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer. As a result, many police departments have sworn him in as an honorary officer.
A Historic Honor
Recognizing DJ’s dedication, Trump decided to take his dream even further. “Tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all: I am asking our new Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.” With that announcement, DJ’s lifelong dream took an extraordinary turn.
