Russia’s military announced on Tuesday that its forces had regained control of 12 villages in the western Kursk region, marking a significant territorial advance. Ukraine Loses Key Ground in Kursk
For weeks, Ukrainian forces have been steadily losing territory in the Kursk region. The villages now under Russian control include Argonom, Bogdanovka, Bondarevka, Dmitryukov, Zazulevka, Ivashkovsky, Kolmakov, Kubatkin, Martynovka, Mikhaylovka, Pravda, and Yuzhny. These villages surround Sudzha, a key regional town that remains under Ukrainian control.
U.S. Cuts Military Support, Pushing Ukraine to Negotiate
Meanwhile, Washington has escalated its pressure on Kyiv by suspending intelligence-sharing and restricting access to satellite data. The U.S. aims to force Ukraine to engage in diplomatic negotiations with Russia. This move follows a tense meeting at the White House last month, where President Donald Trump openly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and demanded Kyiv make concessions to end the war.

Russian state television aired footage of soldiers crawling through narrow underground passages, using gas masks and air packs to move undetected. One soldier explained that this strategy allows them to bypass Ukrainian defenses since “the enemy cannot see us.” This tactic has reportedly given Russia a significant advantage in surprise attacks.
