A family in Gujarat's Amreli district faced a terrifying surprise. A lion entered their home late at night and sat on their kitchen wall. At first, the Lakhanotra family thought they heard a house cat. But when they used a flashlight, they saw a lion staring back at them. The wild animal had climbed a 12 to 13-foot wall to enter the house.

Viral Video Shows the Lion

Soon after, someone shared a video of the lion on social media. It quickly went viral. Reports said the lion had strayed from a nearby forest. As a safety measure, the family ran out of the house. They returned only after officials confirmed the lion had left.

Earlier this year, a pride of 14 lions—including cubs and lionesses—was seen crossing a road near Gir National Park. That video also gained attention. It showed how common lion sightings have become in the region.

Experts Worry About Habitat Loss

Gir Forest is the last home of Asiatic lions. However, their frequent visits to human areas worry wildlife experts. They say the increase in such cases could mean lions are losing their natural homes.
