A video from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj has gone viral, showing a group of men climbing the gate of a dargah and trying to disrupt peace during Ram Navami celebrations. The men were seen waving saffron flags and chanting religious slogans at the site.
Incident at Historic Dargah
The disturbance happened at the dargah of Salar Masood Ghazi, also known as Ghazi Miyan ki Dargah, located in the Sikandra area of the city. According to reports, the men involved belong to a right-wing outfit called Maharaja Suheldev Samman Suraksha Manch. They arrived at the shrine on motorcycles.
In the video circulating online, three individuals can be seen on top of the dargah's entrance gate, waving saffron flags. The group also raised chants of “Jai Shri Ram” loudly, which added to the tension in the area.

Police Respond Immediately
Local police rushed to the scene as soon as they were informed. Officers acted quickly and removed the men from the dargah premises. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat confirmed that action had been taken and peace was restored.
"The Ghazi Miyan ki Dargah has five shrines, and both Hindus and Muslims come here to offer chadar,” said DCP Gunawat. “When some people raised slogans and waved religious flags, our team, which was already present at the site, intervened and cleared them out.”
Legal and Disciplinary Action Underway
Authorities have initiated legal action against those who participated in the incident. DCP Gunawat stated that police officers assigned to maintain law and order during the event are also facing disciplinary proceedings for not preventing the breach.
“We will take strict action against anyone who tries to disturb public harmony,” he added.
Community Relations and Security Concerns
The dargah, known for its spiritual significance to both communities, has long been a symbol of shared faith. Officials emphasized that maintaining peace at such sites remains a top priority, especially during sensitive religious occasions.
