Delhi on High Alert Amid India-Pakistan Conflict, Government Cancels All Staff Leaves
Delhi is on high alert as India-Pakistan tensions escalate, prompting full security deployment and cancellation of government staff leaves.

Delhi sounded a high alert as tensions rose between India and Pakistan. Consequently, the city government cancelled all staff leaves until further notice. Officials confirmed that the Services Department issued the directive late in the evening.

Districts Review Emergency Readiness

Meanwhile, district magistrates held emergency meetings. They reviewed disaster response and health preparedness. For instance, a New Delhi official said the health department had checked all emergency plans.

Police Increase Night Patrols

In response, police intensified night patrolling across Delhi. A senior officer stated, “Police will stay alert and will keep active. Night vigil has been intensified. We will deploy extra force in every sensitive area.”

Security Tightened Across the City

Moreover, authorities deployed additional police and paramilitary forces. They secured malls, markets, airports, metro stations, and residential areas.

At the same time, special commissioners held meetings with all 15 district DCPs. According to police sources, senior officers briefed ACPs and SHOs to ensure full coordination.

Pakistani Attacks Foiled by Indian Forces

Earlier, Pakistan attempted to attack several Indian cities, including Jammu, Srinagar, Pathankot, Amritsar, and Chandigarh. However, Indian forces foiled all the attempts. Additionally, they destroyed a Pakistani air defence system in Lahore.

Delhi Police Remain Fully Alert

A police source noted, “All DCPs are actively monitoring law and order in their areas. They have already briefed their officers like ACPs and SHOs. DCPs are personally monitoring their area and Delhi Police is ready to deal with any kind of situation.”

Metro Station Checked for Security

Furthermore, DCP (East) Abhishek Dhania led an inspection at Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Metro Station. He stated, “As part of ongoing anti-terror measures, the police conducted a thorough security inspection... During the visit, CISF personnel were briefed...”

He added, “The station is secured with 41 operational CCTV cameras... In each shift, 7 male and 2 female CISF personnel remain deployed... This will ensure the safety of the commuters.”

Bomb Squads Conduct Anti-Sabotage Checks

Additionally, Bomb Disposal Squads carried out inspections in malls, markets, and key locations. DCP (Southwest) Surendra Choudhary said, “The district’s BDS team conducted anti-sabotage checks... to ensure public safety throughout the district.”

Border Vehicle Checks Intensified

Finally, Delhi Police tightened checks on all vehicles entering the city. Security teams are thoroughly inspecting vehicles, especially in border areas.
