Swift Response by Indian Armed Forces
The military acted swiftly and neutralized the threat, stating, “Threat neutralised by Indian Armed Forces as per SoP with kinetic & non-kinetic means.” Furthermore, the Defence Ministry confirmed the attacks by Pakistani drones and missiles, adding, “The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.”
This came after India’s Operation Sindoor, which had targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan the previous day.
Blackouts in Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan
Meanwhile, several regions in Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan experienced blackouts following India’s interception of a Pakistani drone attack. Pakistan had aimed missiles at Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, but Indian air defence units successfully intercepted them.
Local Concerns and Safety Measures
In addition, areas such as Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar heard loud noises, which locals feared could be shelling from Pakistan. As a result, authorities urged residents to switch off lights and remain indoors. Subsequently, blackouts were imposed in these districts.
