Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets in the 62nd match of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. With blazing knocks from Ayush Mhatre, Dewald Brevis, and Shivam Dube, Chennai Super Kings posted 187/8 despite losing early wickets. While chasing 188, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave Rajasthan Royals a flying start. Vaibhav Suryavanshi also smashed a fiery half-century. Finally, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer finished the chase with ease in the 18th over.
Early Blows to CSK
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway opened for Chennai Super Kings. Tushar Deshpande began the attack. Mhatre started with a single, and Conway followed with a double and a boundary. Only 7 runs came from the first over.

Mhatre Fights Back With Boundaries

Quick Wickets Slow Down CSK

Brevis hit a six in the ninth over bowled by Maphaka. In the tenth over, bowled by Parag, Brevis added a four and a six. CSK reached 102/5 at halfway mark. Brevis was at 27 off 12, while Dube was on 2.
Brevis-Dube Build a Crucial Partnership
Brevis continued the attack in the 11th over with a six. Dube joined with a boundary. In the 12th, Dube added more runs as CSK picked up 14 and completed a 50-run stand. Hasaranga bowled the 13th and kept it tight, giving away only 5.

Jaiswal Gives RR a Flying Start
Chasing 188, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings for Rajasthan Royals. Khaleel Ahmed started the bowling for Chennai Super Kings. Jaiswal opened his account with a boundary. However, only 5 runs came from the first over.
Then, Anshul Kamboj bowled the second over from the other end. Jaiswal smashed a six to keep the scoreboard ticking. In the third over, Khaleel returned and faced a brutal attack. Jaiswal struck three boundaries and a six, lifting RR to 31/0 in 3 overs.
Next, Anshul Kamboj bowled the fourth over. Suryavanshi got off the mark with a single on the second ball. Samson, Suryavanshi Keep Momentum Going
Ashwin gave 9 runs in the 7th over. Suryavanshi then went big with a six and two fours in the eighth. RR moved to 82/1.
Pathirana kept it tight in the 9th over, giving away only 3. Samson hit a six in the 10th over. RR were 95/1 at halfway. Suryavanshi stood at 30, while Samson was at 29.

Jurel, Hetmyer Seal the Win
Noor bowled the 16th over and dismissed Parag for 3. Hetmyer joined Jurel. Ashwin bowled the 17th over. Jurel hit a six, followed by a six and a four from Hetmyer. RR scored 18 runs.
Pathirana bowled the 18th over. Jurel smashed a six on the first ball and sealed the win for Rajasthan Royals. He remained unbeaten on 31 off 12, while Hetmyer stayed not out on 12 off 5.

Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis played blazing knocks but failed to convert their starts into big innings. CSK reached a respectable total with the help of useful contributions from Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni. Yashasvi Jaiswal once again provided RR a flying start.
