IPL 2025 | GT vs LSG: Gujarat Titans Eye Top-Two Finish as LSG Play for Pride
Gujarat Titans look to secure a top-two finish, while Lucknow Super Giants aim to end their season on a high.

Gujarat Titans (GT) will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 64th match of IPL 2025. The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will start at 7:30 PM.

GT Confirm Playoffs, Target Top-Two Spot

GT have already secured a place in the playoffs. Currently, they lead the table with 18 points from 12 games. However, their top-two spot is not safe yet. Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are just behind with 17 points each. Therefore, GT must win to avoid slipping in the standings.

Top-Order Trio Drives Gujarat’s Success

So far, GT have performed like a well-oiled machine. Their top three—Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler—have dominated most games. Sudharsan has 617 runs, Gill has 601, and Buttler has 500. Together, they have scored 16 fifties and one century. As a result, GT have regularly outplayed opponents with the bat.

Recently, GT crushed Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets. That big win gave them momentum. Now, with only two league matches left, they want to keep winning. Moreover, a top-two finish will give them a second chance in the playoffs.

LSG Out of Playoffs, But Still Motivated

Meanwhile, LSG can no longer qualify for the playoffs. Their recent loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their chances. So far, they have won just five out of 12 games. As a result, they sit in seventh place on the table.

Even so, LSG will want to finish strong. They will play for pride and look to spoil GT’s momentum. Earlier this season, LSG defeated GT by six wickets in Lucknow. Therefore, they will try to repeat that performance in Ahmedabad.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium varies depending on the soil used. Consequently, the nature of the surface can impact the game. Nevertheless, GT are likely to adapt easily given their current form.

In addition, dew is expected during the second innings. This could make bowling difficult later in the game. Therefore, the team that wins the toss may prefer to bowl first to take advantage of better early conditions.

Weather Report

The match day in Ahmedabad will be hot and humid. Besides the heat, there is also a chance of scattered thunderstorms. Hence, players will need to manage both the weather and the playing conditions.
