The Ram Temple in Ayodhya will hold the second Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram on Thursday, June 5. During this event, priests will install idols of Raja Ram and other gods inside the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex. This ceremony follows the first one held in January last year.
Three-Day Celebration Begins
The celebration started on June 3. Finally, the last ceremony will take place on June 5 at 11 am. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend as the chief guest. Meanwhile, the Anjaneya Sewa Trust is organizing the event.
Yogi Adityanath will lead the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on the temple’s first floor. Interestingly, this ceremony also marks his 53rd birthday.
Rituals and Ceremonial Details
Shashikant Maharaj, president of Anjani Seva Sansthan, explained the rituals. First, they will begin with Vedic chanting and a havan (fire ritual). Then, the Chief Minister will perform the ‘uncovering of the eyes’ ritual for the idols of Lord Ram and Sita.
Security Measures and Devotee Access
Officials have arranged strict security for the three-day event in Ayodhya. However, devotees can still visit Ram Lalla as usual. Furthermore, authorities have started verifying residents of unauthorized settlements. Security forces like CRPF, SSF, and PAC are present.
Prasad Distribution for Devotees
For the occasion, 62,000 boxes of prasad will come from Lucknow. Kshitij Gupta, Marketing Head of Chhappan Bhog, said they made Barfi with chickpeas and Moongdal.
Idols and Architecture Details
In the Ram Darbar, the idols of Lord Ram and Mata Sita will sit on a white marble throne two feet high. Moreover, idols of Lord Hanuman and Lakshman will sit beside them. All idols and the throne are carved from white marble from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir uses traditional Nagara style architecture. The walls show detailed carvings of Hindu gods. Additionally, the Ram Darbar idol stands 4.5 feet tall.
Attire of the Ram Idol
The Ram idol will wear a crown, bejeweled belt, and embroidered robes. The clothes will have zari work and precious stones. Designer Manish Tiwari will create the attire.
Limited Access and Ramayana Display
To maintain the sanctity of the temple, the number of devotees allowed on the first floor will be limited. Meanwhile, the second floor will display the Ramayana in many languages, including the oldest version.
Previous Inauguration and Remarks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024. Moreover, Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das told ANI, “On January 22, 'Pran Pratishtha' was done for the 'baal roop' (child form) of Lord Rama, now it is Raja Ram (King Ram).”
