Carlos Alcaraz booked his place in the final of French Open 2025. He was leading 4-6, 7-6(7/3), 6-0, 2-0 when Lorenzo Musetti retired due to a thigh injury.
Alcaraz showed concern after the match. He said, “It’s never great to go through or win a match when it’s like this.” He praised Musetti’s efforts, adding, “He’s done an incredible clay season. I wish him all the best, a quick recovery and that he’ll be back soon.
Alcaraz Dominates Before Musetti Retires
Meanwhile, Musetti had started strong. He took the first set with a break in the 10th game. Yet, Alcaraz bounced back quickly. He won the second-set tiebreaker and then raced through the third set in just 22 minutes.
After losing another break in the fourth set, Musetti retired. Alcaraz accepted the win with grace and is now just one step away from his fifth Grand Slam title.
“It’s been three intense weeks and now I have one step to make,” he said. “I’ll give everything on Sunday.”
