Content creator and reality show star Apoorva Mukhija recently spoke about her disappointing dating experiences in Mumbai. She shared these stories during an interview with Mashable India, where she discussed how hard it is to find love in the city.

“There’s an Actual Recession in Mumbai’s Dating Scene”

Apoorva, who stars in The Traitors on Amazon Prime, admitted she has had no luck in romance lately. She said, “Dating market kharab hai Mumbai mein. Yahan chalu hai asli recession. Jo log single hai aajkal, including myself, wo isliye single hai kyunki unhe koi nai chahta.”
In English, she meant that dating in Mumbai is in a bad state, and many singles—including herself—remain single simply because nobody wants them.

Judged for Her Online Persona

Apoorva revealed that she’s tried all the dating apps but often gets judged based on her online image. She explained that many people believe she will make content about them, even if there’s nothing noteworthy to talk about. “People have such misconceived notions about me that I might make a video about them. And I think what is there in you that I would make a video about you,” she said.

She added that some people assume negative things like, “she drinks” or “she is a gold digger.” Apoorva questioned these assumptions, especially since content creators can earn quite well. She shared an incident where she went on a date with a man who earned ₹25,000 a month. He said he disliked gold diggers. Apoorva humorously responded, “Bhai pital bhi to nahi hai tere paas, gold digger koi kese banega,” meaning he didn’t even have enough to be considered “bronze,” let alone attract a gold digger.

Known as The Rebel Kid

Apoorva, also known online as The Rebel Kid, is a rising social media influencer and actress. She has gained a solid following for her bold content and unique voice.

Currently, Apoorva appears on the Indian version of The Traitors, hosted by Karan Johar. The reality show gathers several celebrities in a mystery-filled competition. Apoorva impressed viewers by correctly identifying Raj Kundra as one of the traitors, which he later confirmed.

The star-studded cast includes personalities like Jannat Zubair, Uorfi Javed, Maheep Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Raftaar, Sufi Motiwala, Elnaaz, Jasmine Bhasin, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Purav Jha.
