Trump Says Israel Agrees to 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire, Urges Hamas to Accept
Trump said Israel accepted a 60-day ceasefire and urged Hamas to agree before the situation worsens.

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. He urged Hamas to accept the deal before the situation gets worse.

Trump said, “My representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today about Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions for a 60-day ceasefire, during which we’ll work to end the war.”

He confirmed that Qatar and Egypt would deliver the final proposal to Hamas. He warned, “I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this deal, because it won’t get better — it will only get worse.”

Trump to Meet Netanyahu Next Monday

Trump shared the news just days before his planned meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. The meeting is set for next Monday.

The US has pushed hard for a ceasefire and a hostage agreement to end the war in Gaza.

On the same day, Israeli Minister Ron Dermer arrived in Washington. He held meetings with top US officials to discuss the ceasefire, Iran, and other key issues. He was scheduled to meet Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Aid Groups Criticize Food Distribution System

Meanwhile, over 150 aid groups called for an end to the US- and Israeli-backed aid system in Gaza. They said the system has caused confusion, violence, and deaths among Palestinians trying to get food.

Groups like Oxfam, Save the Children, and Amnesty International issued a joint statement. They spoke out after at least 10 Palestinians were killed while searching for food, according to witnesses and medical staff.

Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Khan Younis

That same day, Israeli airstrikes hit Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing at least 37 people, said Nasser Hospital.

One grieving mother, Um Seif Abu Leda, said, “They’re hitting tents with missiles?” after losing her son in the attack. Mourners placed flowers on body bags, mourning the dead.

Missiles Fired from Gaza and Yemen

Before Trump’s statement, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned of a strong response. A missile from Yemen had crossed into Israeli airspace.

Later, sirens sounded across parts of Israel as two more rockets were fired from Gaza. Israel’s defense systems intercepted all of them.

This was the first attack from Yemen’s Houthi rebels since Israel’s recent 12-day conflict with Iran. Katz said Yemen might face similar retaliation.

Shortly after, Nasruddin Amer, a senior official from the Houthi media office, responded on social media. He said, “Yemen will continue to support Gaza until the attacks stop and the siege is lifted.”

Netanyahu Stays Silent on Washington Talks

Netanyahu confirmed his upcoming visit to Washington but gave few details. He only mentioned he would discuss a trade deal.

However, officials expect that Iran will be a major focus during the talks. Trump recently helped broker a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, and the issue remains central to US-Israel discussions.
