Rajya Sabha MP and close friend John Brittas recently shared that Malayalam superstar Mammootty is dealing with a minor health issue. This news led fans to worry about his condition and speculate on social media.
Speaking to Reporter TV, Brittas said, “Mammootty is suffering from a minor health complication and is currently receiving treatment. He is okay, and I just had a phone conversation with him.”
New Photo Reassures Fans
Soon after, a photo of Mammootty surfaced online and calmed many fears. On Tuesday, George Sebastian, a close associate, posted a picture showing Mammootty sitting on a chair and looking at his phone. He wore a green shirt, white trousers, and white shoes, looking calm and stylish. Photographer Nazir Mohammed clicked the photo. The caption read, “Nothing serious, it’s just a chat time.”

As a result, fans flooded the post with positive comments. One wrote, “What is Malayalam cinema without you brother. Boss is coming.” Another added, “The king is back...!” Others commented, “Boss is back,” and “The waiting period is over. It’s time! The Return of the King.”
His Recent and Upcoming Films
Mammootty was last seen in Bazooka, an action thriller directed by Deeno Dennis. Gautham Vasudev Menon also played a lead role in the movie.
Now, the actor is working on Kalamkaval, a Malayalam crime thriller directed by Jithin K. Jose. The film features Mammootty and Vinayakan in lead roles, while Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, and Rajisha Vijayan play supporting characters. The film is set to release on August 1.
A Star-Studded Project with Mohanlal
Besides this, Mammootty is also part of a big project titled Patriot. Mohanlal, who is also in the cast, spoke about it in an interview with Sri Lankan media. He said, “This is my second visit [to the country], because we had a previous schedule. We’re doing a big film. Big film, in the sense, star cast – myself, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchako Boban and many others. The name of the movie is ‘Patriot’.”
