Swiatek Dominates Collins, Credits Pasta and Strawberries for Winning Mood
Iga Swiatek’s unusual childhood favourite—pasta with strawberries—is turning heads as she powers into Wimbledon’s fourth round with confidence and form.

At Wimbledon, strawberries and cream are a classic treat. But Iga Swiatek has her own twist on this tradition — and it may just be helping her chase the title this year.

Swiatek Celebrates with a Childhood Favourite

After her solid straight-sets win over American Danielle Collins on Saturday, Swiatek was asked what she would eat to celebrate. Her answer surprised everyone.

"I have my favourite actually," she said. "I ate it as a kid. It is pasta with strawberries." The unexpected mix left many confused. But Swiatek encouraged others to try it too.

"You should try it guys," Swiatek added. "Pasta with strawberries and a little bit of yoghurt. It is just great." Though this dish may sound odd to most, it’s a common delicacy in Poland, Swiatek’s home country.

Smooth Progress to Fourth Round

The unique snack seems to be working for her. Swiatek looked dominant as she defeated Collins 6-2, 6-3 in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. She will now face Denmark’s Clara Tauson in the fourth round.

Swiatek, a five-time Grand Slam winner, hasn’t had much success on grass before. Before Saturday, she had only reached the fourth round at Wimbledon twice.

Building Confidence on Grass

However, this year feels different. Swiatek had a strong showing at Bad Homburg last month, reaching the final. She has carried that form into Wimbledon.

Against Collins, she controlled the match with a strong first serve. She faced only three break points and saved them all.

Enjoying the Grass Court This Year

When asked about her improved performance on grass, Swiatek responded with a smile. "Honestly, it is much more fun [on the grass] this year," the 24-year-old said.

"The ball is listening to me. When it listens to me I don't need to do much. It is pretty smooth." Swiatek’s confidence, calm, and maybe even her strawberry pasta might be the ingredients she needs to go all the way at Wimbledon.
