Wimbledon 2025: Mirra Andreeva Powers Into Fourth Round With Straight-Sets Win
Mirra Andreeva stormed into Wimbledon’s fourth round with a powerful win, continuing her remarkable rise on the Grand Slam stage.

Teen tennis sensation Mirra Andreeva continues to impress as she reached the fourth round of Wimbledon 2025 with a dominant performance against Hailey Baptiste. The 18-year-old Russian, seeded seventh, easily defeated her American opponent 6-1, 6-3 on Court One.

Rising Star Builds on French Open Success

Andreeva recently made headlines by reaching her first Grand Slam semi-final at the French Open. Now, she's aiming for an even better result on the grass courts of Wimbledon. This marks the second time in her career that she has made it to the last 16 at the All England Club. She previously achieved this milestone in 2023.

Before stepping on court, Andreeva told herself: “Just go out there and do something.” She added, “I always expect something from myself but I try to let go and enjoy. I feel with every match I play, my level is rising.”

Commanding Performance Against Baptiste

Andreeva showed her class from the start. With strong movement and sharp ball control, she wrapped up the first set in just 31 minutes. Baptiste, currently ranked 55th, fought harder in the second set with help from a cheering crowd.

Although Baptiste broke back after going down 3-1, Andreeva quickly recovered. She broke serve again and sealed the win in 1 hour and 18 minutes, never really looking in trouble.

Training Under a Legend, Dominating the Tour

Andreeva trains under Conchita Martinez, a former Wimbledon champion. Her progress has been remarkable this season. She already has two WTA 1,000 titles — one in Dubai and the other in Indian Wells, both of which are top-level tournaments just below the Grand Slams.

So far this year, Andreeva has won 35 main-draw matches on the WTA Tour. Only two players have done better — Aryna Sabalenka with 44 wins and Iga Swiatek with 37.

Tougher Challenge Ahead

Next, Andreeva will face a more difficult opponent. Her fourth-round rival will be either Barbora Krejcikova, the defending Wimbledon champion from the Czech Republic, or Emma Navarro, the 10th seed from the USA. The two were set to play later on Saturday.
