China Allegedly Tried to Undermine Rafale Jets After India’s Strike
After India’s airstrike, China reportedly used its embassies to harm the Rafale jet’s image, say French officials.

China reportedly used its embassies to spread doubts about France’s Rafale fighter jets. According to French intelligence, this move came after India used the jets in Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.

The Associated Press reported that Chinese defence attachés received direct orders. They were asked to lead a campaign to reduce the sale and global trust in the Rafale jets.

Chinese Diplomats Led Global Campaign

French sources said China actively told its embassies to question the jets’ performance. As a result, many countries received negative messages about the Rafale’s capabilities. The goal was to convince nations to avoid purchasing the French aircraft.

Moreover, China focused heavily on Asia, where France has been strengthening defence ties. This region is also where China wants to expand its power.

France Uses Jet Sales for Global Influence

France depends on arms sales, especially the Rafale jet, to grow its defence industry. These deals not only support its economy but also help it build strong relations with other countries. In particular, Asian countries have shown great interest in Rafale jets.

Therefore, India’s use of Rafales during Operation Sindoor may have worried China. The operation proved the jet’s strength, which could attract more international buyers.
