Jennifer Love Hewitt has shared how she feels returning to 9-1-1 without Peter Krause. According to Entertainment Tonight, she spoke as the cast began working on Season 9. Earlier, fans were shocked when Krause’s character, Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash, died in Season 8. He had been part of the show for many years.
Hewitt Says Set Feels Different
While talking to Entertainment Tonight, Hewitt admitted that the show feels very different now. “It’s not the same. Nothing is the same,” she said. She made these comments during the premiere of her latest movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, on July 14.
Since Krause left the series, Hewitt said everyone has felt the change. She plays dispatcher Maddie Han on the show. According to her, Krause’s absence has left a big gap. “He was the person that mattered to everyone in the cast the most… He was our hero. And he always will be,” she said.
Moreover, she explained that stories about first responders often include sad moments. She said, “Unfortunately, those are the things that happen.”
Hewitt Looks Forward to New Season
Even though she misses Krause, Hewitt said she feels excited about Season 9. She described it as her “favorite.” In addition, she said she missed her cast members. Interestingly, she also said she “oddly miss[es] crying every day, all day long.” Now, she feels “excited” to return to work and experience those emotions again.
Krause Shares His Thoughts
Krause’s character died in the April 17 episode. Afterward, he shared his feelings in an interview. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “The role of Bobby Nash was written in sacrifice, and he was built for this.” He added that real-life first responders “risk their lives on the job so that others can see another day.”
