Tomorrowland Main Stage in Belgium Wrecked in Blaze, Organisers Vow Show Will Go On
A fire destroyed Tomorrowland’s main stage before the event, but organizers confirmed the festival will continue as planned.

A major fire broke out at the Tomorrowland music festival site near Antwerp, Belgium, on Wednesday. The festival’s main stage was completely destroyed just one day before thousands of electronic dance music fans were set to arrive.

Organizers confirmed that no one was hurt in the incident. They also reassured fans that the festival would continue as planned over the next two weekends.

Flames and Smoke Covered the Area

Images shared on local news websites and social media showed large flames engulfing the main stage. Thick black smoke was seen rising into the sky, and the fire even spread to nearby woodland areas.

Organizers Focus on Solutions

In an official statement, organizers said, “Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged. We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.” They added that the team is now focused on “finding solutions” to ensure the festival can go ahead.

Festival Campsite to Open as Scheduled

Despite the damage, organizers confirmed that the DreamVille campsite would open on Thursday as planned. Around 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival in the town of Boom, many of whom plan to camp on-site.

Top DJs Will Still Perform

Several popular DJs and electronic music stars, including David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren, and Charlotte de Witte, are set to perform starting Friday. These performances were originally planned across two main locations – the now-destroyed main stage and the freedom stage.

Firefighters Couldn’t Save the Stage

Hundreds of firefighters worked for hours trying to save the main stage but were unable to stop the destruction. Authorities in Antwerp have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Early reports suggest it was accidental.

Tomorrowland’s Global Popularity

Tomorrowland, which started 20 years ago by two Belgian brothers, has become one of the world’s most famous electronic dance music festivals. Despite this setback, organizers are determined to continue the event for fans worldwide.
