Netanyahu Backs India Amid US Trade Dispute, Calls It a ‘Solid Partner’
Netanyahu backs India in its trade dispute with the US, calls it a “solid partner” and highlights strong defence and diplomatic ties.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed clear support for India amid its ongoing trade conflict with the United States. He described India as a “solid partner” and stressed that Washington shares that understanding.

India’s Growing Strategic Importance

Netanyahu praised India’s role in global affairs. He said the country “stands out in Asia” and plays a key role in world politics. Referring to the growing ties between India and the United States, he said both are “two terrific friends with so much common ground.” He also expressed hope that the current trade issues will be resolved. “They should be able to find a solution,” he added.

Defence Cooperation with India

Netanyahu also spoke about the strong defence relationship between India and Israel. He referred to Operation Sindoor, where India used Israeli military equipment. He praised the tools as “battle-proven” and said they worked well in real-time situations.

Israel's Position on Gaza Conflict

On the ongoing Gaza war, Netanyahu made Israel’s stand clear. He said, “We will destroy Hamas. We will get our hostages back.” At the same time, he ruled out any plans to take over the territory. “Israel will not annex Gaza,” he said. Instead, he explained that Israel plans to build a security perimeter around the area to prevent future threats.

He also sent a direct message to Hamas: “The war can be over tomorrow if Hamas lays down arms. Innocents must be separated from Hamas.”
