The Indian Army stopped an infiltration attempt in Uri, but lost a soldier during the intense exchange of fire.

The Indian Army stopped an infiltration attempt on Wednesday along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Pakistan’s Border Action Team Suspected

Reports claim Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) may have supported the attempt. The attackers struck near Tikka Post in Uri. The attack happened in the area of responsibility of 16 Sikh LI (09 Bihar Advance Party) and under Police Station Uri. The operation left one soldier dead, India Today reported.

Another Soldier Died a Day Earlier

This incident came just a day after Sepoy Banoth Anil Kumar died during duty along the LoC in Baramulla. The Army’s Chinar Corps posted on X, “Chinar Corps deeply regret the loss of the precious life of Braveheart Sepoy Banoth Anil Kumar, while performing operational duty along the Line of Control in Baramulla district. Chinar Warriors salute his immense valour and sacrifice, express deepest condolence and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.”

Losses Continue in South Kashmir

On Monday, CDS General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi mourned two more soldiers. Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh died in Operation Kulgam during anti-terrorist missions. The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff wrote on X that General Chauhan and all ranks of the Armed Forces saluted their “supreme sacrifice” and offered condolences to their families.
