Airlines Urge Passengers to Check Flight Status Amid Disruptions
Heavy rain in Mumbai caused flight delays, bus diversions, and major traffic snarls as airlines and city authorities issued advisories to commuters.

Several airlines, including IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air, issued travel advisories on Saturday. Because of heavy rain and bad weather, they asked passengers to plan ahead and reach the airport early. As a result, many travellers faced delays due to waterlogging and traffic jams across Mumbai.

In addition, airlines advised passengers to check their flight status on official websites before leaving. SpiceJet warned that “departures, arrivals, and connecting flights could be affected due to adverse weather conditions in Mumbai.”

Meanwhile, Akasa Air pointed out that heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Goa, and Pune caused traffic congestion around airports, which added to passenger delays.

Bus Services Disrupted

At the same time, flooded streets disrupted road traffic and bus services in several parts of the city. Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) confirmed that many bus routes were diverted. For example, buses from Sion, Kings Circle, Aarey Colony, and Malad Subway had to take alternate routes.

Traffic Snarls Across the City

Consequently, traffic slowed across Mumbai as rainwater collected on major roads. According to Mumbai Traffic Police, one to one-and-a-half feet of water at Kane Nagar Bus Stand and MGR Chowk in Antop Hill led to heavy congestion.
