US President Donald Trump has denied viral rumors about his death, calling them baseless and absurd. The speculation emerged during his short break from public events, which fueled online chatter about his health.
Trump Addresses Rumors at Press Conference
During a White House press briefing, Trump was asked about the false reports claiming he had died. “I didn’t hear that one,” Trump said with a laugh, dismissing the rumors.
He explained that he had recently held several press conferences and then took a brief two-day pause from public appearances. “I have heard, it’s sort of crazy. But last week I did numerous news conferences. All successful, they went very well, like this is going very well. And then I didn’t do any for two days and they said, ‘there must be something wrong with him,’” Trump remarked.
Drawing a comparison, he added, “Biden wouldn’t do them for months, you wouldn’t see them, and nobody ever said there was ever anything wrong with him and he wasn’t in the greatest of shape.” His comment prompted laughter from Vice President JD Vance and Senator Katie Britt, who were seated beside him.
Hashtags Fuel Speculation
The rumors spread quickly on social media over the Labor Day weekend. Hashtags like #trumpdead and #whereistrump began trending, with users speculating about Trump’s health.
Photos showing Trump’s bruised hands and swollen ankles added to the frenzy. His week-long absence from the spotlight further fueled concerns, even though no official statement suggested there was a health issue.
Trump Responds Online and In Person
To put the rumors to rest, Trump posted on Truth Social Sunday night, writing, “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE.”
By Tuesday, Trump acknowledged the growing chatter. When a Fox News reporter asked how he first learned about the viral claims, he said, “I didn’t hear it to that extent,” reiterating that the speculation was unfounded.
Context Behind the Viral Claims
Trump’s absence was part of his regular schedule, not due to illness or injury. However, the lack of public appearances, combined with circulated images of minor bruises, caused wild online speculation.
The White House has not released any statements about Trump’s health, as officials maintain there is no cause for concern.
