Taylor Swift recently arrived at an event shielded by a bulletproof screen, surprising fans and sparking speculation. Some assumed it was a publicity stunt or part of a future announcement.
However, insiders revealed it was a serious safety measure, not a promotional move. Swift’s team decided on the heightened protection after learning of escalating threats connected to a man who has repeatedly targeted the pop star.
“They used the screen to keep her safe,” an insider said. “They have used that screen before, but usually it is for the President or someone like that, not a celebrity. But this was a weird week.”
Stalker Behind Ongoing Threats
The man at the center of the case, Brian Jason Wagner, allegedly began stalking Swift in mid-2024. Authorities accuse Wagner of multiple break-ins at her Los Angeles home. He also spread false claims, including that he had fathered a child with the singer.
Swift obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) requiring Wagner to stay 100 yards away. Yet, according to private investigator Brooke Berg, Wagner has avoided phone calls and court papers, preventing the TRO from becoming permanent.
An insider close to Swift said the situation has made the singer extremely cautious. “Her team has to be hyper-vigilant because she has been stalked so many times,” the insider explained. “She recently discovered she was targeted by [online] groups on social media. She will change promotional plans or scale back if any threats she has received online are deemed serious by her security team. It’s horrible.” The source added that Swift feels deeply concerned about the “depraved lengths he has gone to invade her privacy.”
Incident at Arrowhead Stadium
The extreme security measures became highly visible when Swift appeared at Arrowhead Stadium under the bulletproof screen.
While fans speculated it was part of a creative marketing plan, insiders confirmed it was a direct response to credible threats against her.
Past Stalking Incidents
This is not the first time Swift has faced serious danger from stalkers.
Over the years, several men have been arrested for threatening or harassing her:
-
Frank Edward Hoover threatened Swift’s father in 2015, calling her family “the evil family of devils.” He was arrested in 2016 and later sentenced to ten years of probation.
-
David Crowe was arrested in 2024 outside Swift’s New York home after repeated break-in attempts.
-
Eric Swarbrick was convicted for sending threatening letters to the singer.
-
Mohammed Jaffar and Roger Alvarado were charged with trespassing and breaking into her residences.
Heightened Vigilance Moving Forward
Swift’s team continues to assess threats carefully, adapting her public appearances and schedules as needed. As her fame grows, so does the risk to her safety, forcing the singer to take presidential-level security measures to ensure her protection.
