Netanyahu Highlights Israel’s Success Against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran at UN
Netanyahu told the UN that Israel has “crushed the bulk” of Hamas’s terror network and vowed to continue its military campaign while warning about Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the 80th United Nations General Assembly on Friday, stating that Israel has “crushed the bulk” of Hamas’s “terror machine”. He added that Israel is moving to complete its military goals “as fast as possible.”

Netanyahu Highlights Israeli Military Action

Firstly, Netanyahu reminded the world of Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack. He claimed that Israel has “devastated” Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, “hammered” Houthi rebels in Yemen, “crushed the bulk of Hamas”, and “crippled” Hezbollah. He argued that these actions are essential for Israel’s long-term security and regional stability.

Moreover, he thanked US President Donald Trump for “bold, decisive action against Iran.” He warned that “Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles must be eliminated” and urged countries to remain vigilant to prevent Iran from rebuilding its nuclear program. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel had “removed an existential threat of Iran.”

Gaza Conflict and Hostages

Regarding Gaza, Netanyahu pledged to press ahead with Israel’s military campaign against Hamas. Furthermore, he delivered an emotional message to Israeli hostages held by the group, broadcasting in Hebrew near Gaza: “We’ve not forgotten you – not even for a second.”

Criticism of Western Nations

In addition, Netanyahu criticized Western countries for supporting Palestinian statehood. He accused them of yielding to activists and critics who allege Israel committed war crimes in Gaza. He also noted that recent diplomatic actions by US allies have further deepened Israel’s isolation during its nearly two-year conflict with Hamas.

Reactions at the UN

Before his speech, dozens of delegates walked out in protest. While some in the audience booed, others cheered. When he spoke about Iran, some delegates shouted, but other remarks earned applause, reflecting a sharply divided reaction in the hall.

Overall, Netanyahu’s speech highlighted Israel’s military victories, security concerns about Iran, and a firm stance against international criticism, while eliciting mixed reactions from the global community.
