‘Are We Still Dreaming?’: Team India Celebrates Historic World Cup Win
The Indian women’s cricket team made history by winning their first-ever World Cup, celebrating the emotional triumph with heartwarming photos beside the trophy.

The Indian women’s cricket team achieved a dream milestone on Sunday by clinching their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

This remarkable win marked India’s maiden triumph in the tournament’s history. The team’s success came through strong all-round performances from Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma, who rose to the occasion in the high-pressure final.

Players Celebrate Their Dream Moment

Soon after the win, the players’ joy spilled over onto social media. Jemimah Rodrigues, who starred as the Player of the Match in the semi-final against Australia, shared a now-viral photo with teammate Smriti Mandhana on Instagram.

In the picture, both players are seen sleeping beside the World Cup trophy, capturing a beautiful moment of pride and disbelief. Jemimah captioned the post, “Good morning world.”

The image reminded fans of a similar moment from last year when Rohit Sharma shared a photo of himself sleeping next to the T20 World Cup trophy after India’s win in Barbados.

“Are We Still Dreaming?”

Jemimah later posted another picture featuring Arundhati Reddy and Radha Yadav posing with the trophy. She wrote, “Are we still dreaming?”, echoing the emotions of the entire team and millions of fans celebrating the historic achievement.

India’s Historic Feat

India’s 2025 World Cup journey will be remembered for its resilience and determination. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side became the first team in the tournament’s history to lift the trophy despite losing three matches earlier in the campaign.

Their stunning comeback and record-breaking win have etched a new chapter in Indian cricket, inspiring future generations and marking a defining moment for women’s sports in the country.
