Gokulam Kerala FC wrapped up their AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 journey with a dominant 3-0 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Albert Torras opened the scoring in the 28th minute, while Samuel Lyndoh added another early in the second half. Substitute Juan Carlos Rico sealed the win with a late goal as Gokulam climbed to third place in Group C. Both teams, however, bowed out of the competition.
Early Chances for Both Sides
Gokulam began aggressively. In the fourth minute, Alfred Planas forced Mohammedan goalkeeper Subhajit Bhattacharjee into an early save with a curling free-kick from distance.
Mohammedan responded with quick counterattacks. Maharabam Maxion fired wide from the edge of the box in the eighth minute, and a minute later, Ashley Koli’s powerful free-kick rattled the crossbar, coming close to an opener.
Torras Breaks the Deadlock
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 28th minute. A shot from Shighil deflected off Yash Chickro and landed perfectly for Albert Torras, who volleyed the ball past the goalkeeper to give Gokulam a 1-0 lead.
The goal boosted the Malabarians’ confidence. They began to dominate possession and attack in waves, with Planas and Soyal Joshy keeping the Mohammedan defence under pressure. Just before halftime, Bhattacharjee made another fine save to deny Gokulam a second goal.
Lyndoh Doubles the Lead
After the break, Gokulam kept their intensity high. In the 49th minute, Planas combined neatly with Torras before unleashing a shot that Bhattacharjee once again parried away.
Their persistence paid off in the 56th minute. Akshunna Tyagi made a brilliant run down the left flank and delivered a low cross that found Samuel Lyndoh, who calmly tapped it in to make it 2-0.
Rico Seals the Victory
As the clock ticked down, Gokulam continued to press for a third. In the 86th minute, Planas’ shot was blocked by Bhattacharjee, but Juan Carlos Rico reacted quickly to score from the rebound.
The late strike sealed a 3-0 victory for Gokulam Kerala FC — their first win of the tournament — and a strong finish to their campaign.
Summary
Gokulam Kerala displayed solid teamwork, sharp finishing, and tactical discipline to outclass Mohammedan Sporting Club. Torras and Planas led the attack with flair, while Bhattacharjee’s efforts in goal could not prevent the heavy defeat.
