Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry has spent three days in a hospital in Thailand after she fell off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary round on November 19. The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization confirmed that she is receiving treatment and that her sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, is by her side.
Family Shares Update on Her Condition
Dr. Henry-Samuels told People that her sister’s recovery is slower than expected. She said, “Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly.”
Doctors have decided to keep Henry in the intensive care unit for at least seven days. They want to ensure “close monitoring and specialized care” while they track her condition.
Organisation Requests Sensitivity
The Miss Universe Jamaica team urged people to avoid harmful or misleading posts online. Their update said, “We respectfully ask the public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family.”
The statement added that the main priority is Henry’s recovery. It also asked for “continued compassion, sensitivity, and privacy as the family navigates this challenging period.”
