Suicide bombers struck the Federal Constabulary’s (FC) headquarters in Peshawar on Monday. The city lies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that has struggled with unrest for years.
According to Dawn, the incident killed at least three FC soldiers. It also left 11 others injured.
A police officer, Mian Saeed Ahmad, told the newspaper that one bomber blew himself up at the main gate. Two more attackers attempted to enter the facility but FC personnel shot them before they could get inside.
Chaos After Blasts
People living near the FC headquarters reported hearing a loud explosion on Monday. Many shared posts on X saying the sound came from inside the FC compound.
Social media users said the attack happened after two blasts were heard in the area. Videos circulating online also captured the sound of heavy gunfire.
Pakistani officials later confirmed that both explosions were carried out by suicide bombers. A senior official told Reuters on the condition of anonymity: "The first suicide bomber first carried out an attack on the main entrance of the constabulary and the other one entered the compound."
Area Sealed Off
Following the assault, authorities closed the road outside the FC headquarters. Security forces blocked access and secured the entire zone to prevent any further threat.
