BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi, Calls Him ‘Leader of Paryatan’ Ahead of Germany Tour
The BJP criticised Rahul Gandhi for planning a Germany trip during the ongoing Winter Session, calling him “Leader of Paryatan” and accusing him of avoiding parliamentary duties.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his upcoming trip to Germany. BJP leaders labelled him the “Leader of Paryatan” and claimed he prefers foreign travel over his responsibilities in Parliament.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said Rahul Gandhi was once again doing “what he does best.” He noted that the Leader of Opposition was preparing to leave the country even though the Winter Session will continue until December 19. Reports indicate that Gandhi will be in Germany between December 15 and 20.

BJP Connects the Trip to Past Election Absences

The BJP also pointed to earlier occasions when Gandhi travelled abroad during important political periods. Poonawalla recalled that Gandhi was out of the country during the Bihar elections and later went on a jungle safari.

He said, “Videsh Nayak is going for another foreign tour,” arguing that the Congress leadership frequently stays away during crucial moments. Poonawalla added, “When he loses elections, he says, why are we losing elections? But by the way, his mind is not in the middle of the people. It’s only in tour and travel. Only in foreign tours. This is Rahul Gandhi."

Indian Overseas Congress Confirms Gandhi’s Travel Plans

The Indian Overseas Congress confirmed that Gandhi will travel with IOC chairperson Sam Pitroda. During the six-day visit, he will meet members of the Indian diaspora and hold discussions with German government ministers.

Balwinder Singh, president of IOC Germany, said, “The Member of Parliament and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit Germany from December 15 to 20.”
Vikram Duhan of IOC UK added that these meetings will offer an opportunity to discuss India’s global role and strengthen engagement with German legislators and the diaspora community.
